Think tank Daiichi Institute Co., Ltd.（株式会社第一総合研究所）opened a website on March 19, 2011 called 震災ホームステイ(Shinsai Homestay; literally, Disaster Homestay, but meaning Homestay for Disaster Victims.
The site coordinates information about the availability of vacant houses and vacant rooms that are being made available to disaster victims who are looking for temporary housing. The houses and rooms are available for several weeks to several months. Offers for such housing and rooms have come in from all over the country and even from Bali in Indonesia.
